BORN to BRIDGE

ABOUT

My love for Pilates began about 15 years ago. I came from a corporate background and developed back pain while cycling to de-stress, which led to sciatica in my 30s, which introduced me to Pilates. I've never looked back! Actually, I can twist my back with ease now.)
I'm the proud mother of an amazing 10-year-old tomgirl who challenges me every day.
Although I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, my German ancestry may help to explain part of my work ethic as well as why I am unable to count, especially  when my clients are required to work a little bit harder!
Now, my husband and I are delighted to call gorgeous Aotearoa home.

ABOUT MY APPROACH

Your general health, injuries, and exercise goals are important to me. I develop a customised programme for you that combines reformer, Pilates ball, and mat training with the support of the Pilates principles, my 15 years of fitness experience, and nutritional therapy.
Despite my laid-back demeanour, I am fully committed to giving my customers a challenging but precise workout.

INTRODUCTION LESSON

Introduction Lesson

This is the best way to start Pilates. Based on experience and needs, the introduction session is to examine what the best program is for you based on your body assessment, injuries and individual goals. The duration is 45 minutes of which 20 mins is exercise.

ONE ON ONE SESSION

Reformer & Mat

Mat classes utilizing the body weight for exercises, while the Reformer adds resistance to the Pilates exercises via the use of the springs. Additional equipment like rollers, small or large Pilates balls, TheraBand, weights are added depending on the clients program.

DUO SESSIONS

Reformer & Mat

Bring a companion or partner so you can split the cost and help each other stay motivated.

Whilst one person is one the reformer the other is training on the mat. To ensure that past injuries are treated and personal objectives are addressed, individual plans are still created for each person.

I highly recommend Sonja's group Pilates classes to anyone. Nice small classes means she can make sure everyone's form is correct. Sonja is a lovely, friendly teacher who is welcoming to all:)
